The Anne Arundel Medical Center Laboratory offers a full range of diagnostic testing for inpatients and outpatients ranging from newborns to seniors. Lab services include chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology, surgical and cytopathology, including on-site fine-needle and bone marrow biopsy and frozen sections.

For our patients’ convenience, the Lab offers two locations. The Diagnostic Center on the first floor of the Acute Care Pavilion is open for specimen collection seven days a week. Most collection is done on a walk-in basis, but for some specialized procedures such as fine needle aspirations, patients will need to make an appointment.

The second lab facility is located in the Sajak Pavilion. In addition to serving the AAMC Lab, this draw center accepts testing for Quest, LabOne, and LipoScience diagnostic services.

A Blood Donor Center is located in the Acute Care Pavilion where qualifying autologous and directed donations are accepted.
